About Trogir
... "If you ever set off
towards a beautiful south,
Stand in front of Trogir,
Dock the boat, under the walls of the city "....
Poem "CROATIAN KINGS"

Trogir - from 2800 years of history is a "treasure house of art" or " museum city“, and from the first appearance of modern tourism on the Croatian coast during the 19th century, represents one of the most interesting points which always gives the world a magnificent picture of calmness, which was also recognized by UNESCO in1997.
Trogir was founded by Greek colonists from the island of Vis in the 3rd century BC. On these antique grounds lies the historical core of Trogir, which is the best preserved Roman-gothic town on the Adriatic and Eastern Europe. In Trogir's medieval core, surrounded by walls, are packed preserved towers and steeples and ranges house and palaces from the Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. The biggest building in Trogir is the Cathedral of St., Lawrence. The main western portal is the excellent work of the master Radovan, the most famous work of art in Dalmatia.

In the evening you can walk through the narrow streets and squares during the Trogir Summer Festival and enjoy the folk dances of our local CAS "Kvadrilja" and another folk quests , classical concerts in the cathedral, or Jazz nights on Radovan square.
You will feel the coldness of the solid walls and towers, the rich beauty of the cathedral, the mysticism of streets and arcades, harmony of colors and forms in paintings, the wealth of miniatures and reliefs. In quiet museums, treasury art collections and old libraries, among the monuments in stone, we keep track of continuous life and human creativity in a climate where the sun and the sea are merged.
Visit Trogir and feel the rich beauty of the stone monuments, the mystic streets and arcades, cold solid walls and towers, the harmony of colors and forms in paintings and reliefs.
